Accessibility

Wheelchair Access
The Old Courthouse Theatre welcomes guests with disabilities, together with their companions. We aim to ensure our customers have an enjoyable and memorable visit to the Theatre.

WHEELCHAIR SEATS AND CONCESSIONS

The Old Courthouse Theatre has two wheelchair spaces available within the auditorium.

It is recommended that these seats are booked well in advance at the Box Office. The Old Courthouse Theatre will not release wheelchair accessible seats to non wheelchair users while other seats remain available.

MOBILITY SCOOTERS

The theatre is unable to accept mobility scooters in the auditorium due to the need to evacuate the auditorium safely in an emergency. Should a guest need the use of their scooter to get to their seat a member of the Front of House will be available to help. The theatre has a wheelchair for use in these instances but scooters can be left in a safe place outside the auditorium.

Hearing Impaired
The Theatre provides a loop system for people with hearing impairments.

FOR AMPLIFICATION

If you require amplification we have a loop hearing system headset which customers can use. This is ideal for customers who may have difficulty hearing.

FOR HEARING AIDS

For customers who use a hearing aid, we have a hearing loop system available. This is used by switching your hearing aid to the T position.
Both pieces of equipment are free to hire for the duration of the performance from box office.

Other facilities include:

  • Access for hearing dogs
  • Special signed/captioned performances (details are available in our events guide)
  • Use of audible and visible alarms during emergencies
